Psychotherapy & Counselling
The terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably, but I like to make a small distinction between the two:
-
Counselling: Typically short-term therapy that focuses on understanding and addressing a specific issue.
-
Psychotherapy: Typically longer-term and more explorative, aiming to gain deeper insight into a person’s thought processes, beliefs and way of being.
Seeking therapy
Many reasons can lead someone to seek therapy, such as experiencing loss, trauma, or relational challenges. You may feel anxious, depressed, or discontented. Sometimes, there may not be a clear reason – you might simply sense that something isn’t quite right or that you’re not living life as fully as you’d like.
Whether seeking therapy feels like a natural step or a daunting decision, or you feel uncertain about asking for help, these feelings are valid, and I am here to support you. Together, we’ll create a safe, compassionate space to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment.
